Hello! Welcome to my site, what I hope will be a forum for compelling content about language learning, communication and intercultural awareness. Whether you are a student studying English as a Foreign Language, a native English speaker looking to reconnect with foreign languages or you're interested in student engagement, I hope you will find my advice, information and resources helpful.
Languages are my life blood, and as a teacher, journalist and trainee psychotherapist, I’m constantly thinking about how they shape our lives and our relationships with one another.
We are living in an ever-expanding global community and there has never been a better time to learn a new language. Whether you want to foster new relationships, experience a different way of life, study abroad or work for an international company, learning a foreign language can be as much about the journey as it can the end product. It is worth remembering, too, that the final outcome of your studies doesn’t have to be fluency; I would encourage any visitors to my site to be clear on their goals, and above all, to enjoy the learning process!
I have been tutoring English as a Foreign Language, English for Academic Purposes, IELTS, Italian and A Level English Language and Literature for three years, and I lead an informal language exchange on the first Saturday of every month in Harrogate. I also run my own consultancy business which supports companies to implement an effective involvement policy, by which students can play a key role in developing services. Please get in touch if you would like to know more about any of the above.
I hope you enjoy browsing the site!
